It is a fitting addition for collectors of Messier, Oilers memorabilia and Canadian O-Pee-Chee hockey issues.

Bilingual reverse and career snapshot

The English and French reverse describes Messier as one of the strongest players on the Oilers squad, emphasizing speed, agility and a robust style of play. Its career table includes his time with Indianapolis and Cincinnati in the WHA and his 1979-80 Oilers season: 75 games, 12 goals, 21 assists, 33 points and 120 penalty minutes. Biographical details identify Edmonton, Alberta as both his birthplace and hometown. A team note also references the Oilers' home at Northlands Coliseum.
