Looking for some extra cash? You would be amazed at how much your old, broken or unwanted jewelry can get you. We will gladly look at any jewelry you have and make an offer while you wait.
A few Tips help your transaction:
- Separate all costume jewelry from items you believe might be gold or silver. While some costume jewelry can hold value, most does not. If we find any costume pieces that pique our interest, we’ll make an offer and simply return the rest that we’re not buying.
- One simple test to see if see if something is gold or silver is to run a strong magnet over the piece. If it sticks to the magnet, it is definitely not gold or silver. Remember that not all metals are magnetic, so even if your piece does not stick to the magnet, that does not mean that it is gold or silver.
Most, but not all Jewelry will be marked with a Purity Stamp
- Most, though not all, jewelry will have a purity stamp. Gold jewelry will typically be marked with designations like 10K, 14K, 18K, or 22K. Internationally, you might also find numeric stamps like .416, .585, .750, or .916. Earrings often display markings on the posts and backs; sometimes only the post is gold while the decorative part is not.
- Silver Jewellery should be marked with .925, .800, or Sterling (international silver may have image stamps) you can research hallmarks on line. This site I find to be very comprehensive. www.925-1000.com.
- Note: Pieces which state “plate“, “electroplate” or “filled” will not be pure. These terms mean that there is a coating of gold or silver over top of a base metal. Unfortunately, we do not purchase plated items but we do buy Gold Filled items.
- If your piece is not marked we can test it in in house with our XRF to confirm purity.
Does your item have Semi Precious stones? If so we will deduct the weight of the stone when purchasing.
- Does your item contain semi-precious stones? If so, we’ll deduct the stone's weight when making our offer. For larger stones, we may need to remove them to obtain an accurate weight.
Does your item have Diamonds?
- What about diamonds? We sometimes buy diamonds, particularly those larger than .25 ct. In such cases, we may be able to offer more for your item. However, small diamonds, such as chips or those up to .20 ct., typically don’t add extra value; in those instances, we often offer the weight in gold instead. You're welcome to keep removable diamonds, but please have a jeweler handle the removal to avoid any damage.
Dental Gold
- Please do your best to remove all impurities from dental gold prior to bringing them to the store. We may not accept dental gold with any remains still attached. Impurities are easily removed with a hammer or pliers.
Valid Photo ID is required and you must be 18 years of age.
