Scarcer Canadian printing
The printed Canadian origin marking distinguishes this version and adds interest for collectors of Canadian-printed trading cards. As card number 1, The Batman makes a fitting starting point for a 1966 Topps Batman set or a character-focused display of vintage non-sport cards.
Introducing the Caped Crusader
The orange reverse introduces a black, grey and gold-clad figure swinging from the rooftops on a long rope. Batman descends upon thieves fleeing a robbery, casting the shadow of an enormous bat onto the walls behind him. A Batman illustration accompanies the story, together with an invitation to collect the entire series of 55 Batman cards.
Condition and holder notes
The photographs show the specific SGC-encapsulated card offered. Please inspect both images for centering, corners, edges, surface appearance and holder condition. SGC has assigned the card a grade of 4.5 VG/EX+; this is not a mint-condition card. Visible scuffs and scratches on the holder should be considered separately from the card's assigned grade. SGC's assessment of the card does not imply a scratch-free holder. The card is offered in the holder shown.
