Young Elizabeth II portrait

The obverse features Mary Gillick's youthful, laureate portrait of Elizabeth II, surrounded by ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. Dated 1963, this coin belongs to the final year of this portrait on Canada's regular ten-cent coinage, before the introduction of the crowned portrait in 1965 following the 1964 issue.

The Bluenose reverse

Emanuel Hahn's celebrated schooner design depicts Bluenose under sail, with CANADA, the date and 10 CENTS around the vessel. Introduced on the dime in 1937, the design draws on Canada's maritime heritage and remains one of the country's most familiar coin motifs.

Mint State collecting appeal

The ICCS MS66 grade makes this example an appealing candidate for a certified Elizabeth II date collection or a Canadian silver type set. The photographs show bright silver-coloured highlights and darker reflective areas, with the portrait and rigging visible through the holder. Please inspect all images for the individual coin's surface characteristics and appearance. Reflections alone do not establish a proof or prooflike designation; neither is recorded on the label or claimed here.

Exact coin and holder

Both coin faces and a separate certification-label photograph are included. The assigned grade is ICCS's assessment and does not imply a completely mark-free coin. Marks on the plastic and photographic reflections should be considered separately from the coin itself. The listed weight is the standard coin specification, not the shipping weight of the encapsulated item.

The ICCS-certified coin shown is the exact coin you will receive. Guaranteed authentic.
