An outstanding 1939 Canadian Silver Dollar certified MS-64 by ICCS (International Coin Certification Service). Issued to commemorate the 1939 Royal Visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, this is one of Canada’s most iconic commemorative silver dollars and the first to feature the Parliament Buildings on the reverse.
The obverse bears the portrait of King George VI, while the reverse showcases the Centre Block of Canada’s Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, complete with the Peace Tower. Around the design appears the Latin inscription “FIDE SVORVM REGNAT,” meaning “He reigns by the faith of his people.”
Graded MS-64, this coin displays strong original mint luster, sharp detail, and attractive eye appeal, placing it just one step below Gem Mint State. The 1939 Royal Visit Dollar remains one of the most popular Canadian commemorative issues and is a cornerstone of advanced Canadian silver dollar collections.
