Double XXV attribution

The Double XXV designation refers to doubling of the Roman numerals XXV in the obverse inscription commemorating the twenty-fifth year of George V's reign. This identification is supplied by Calgary Coin Gallery separately from NGC's numerical grade. No additional doubling variety is claimed.

Canada's first silver dollar

Issued for George V's Silver Jubilee, 1935 marked the first year of Canada's silver dollar denomination. The obverse features the crowned and robed portrait of George V and the commemorative inscription. Emanuel Hahn's Voyageur reverse depicts an Indigenous paddler and a voyageur in a canoe with bundled cargo, an island, trees and stylized northern lights.

Condition and appearance

NGC has assigned MS64, a Mint State grade. The photographs show visible surface marks, reflective highlights and areas of darker toning, with warm colour around portions of the design. Please examine both images closely for the individual surfaces and appearance.
