A superb gem example of the 1902H Canada Five Cents — Large H variety — certified and graded Mint State 65 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), cert 640336-016, in an early-generation NGC/ANA holder. The Large H variety is distinguished by the larger, bolder Heaton mintmark on the reverse, contrasting with the Small H die. The 1902H is a first-year Edwardian issue struck at the Heaton Mint in Birmingham, England, and is a perennial favourite among collectors of early 20th-century Canadian silver coinage.

The obverse features the right-facing portrait of King Edward VII by G.W. De Saulles, surrounded by the legend EDWARDVS VII DEI GRATIA REX IMPERATOR. The reverse displays the denomination 5 CENTS and CANADA with the date 1902 and the H mintmark within an ornate maple leaf and floral wreath. Struck in .925 fine silver at the Heaton Mint, Birmingham.
