A scarce piece of early Canadian monetary history, this 1900 Dominion of Canada Twenty-Five Cent note has been certified and graded Very Fine 20 by Banknote Certification Service (BCS). Catalogue reference DC-15b, bearing the signature of J.M. Boville as Deputy Minister of Finance.
The obverse features the iconic seated Britannia vignette with ornate engraving, printed by the American Bank Note Company, Ottawa. The reverse displays the classic green 25-cent design with guilloché rosette patterning. Authorized under R.S.C. Cap. 31 and dated January 2nd, 1900.
Encapsulated in a BCS tamper-evident holder (cert FS322). A solid circulated example of this popular "shinplaster" issue — ideal for the Canadian banknote collector.
