A well-circulated survivor of Canada's first Dominion fractional currency issue, this 1870 Dominion of Canada Twenty-Five Cent note has been certified and graded Good 6 by Banknote Certification Service (BCS). Catalogue reference DC-1b-i, bearing the signatures of Dickinson (for Minister of Finance) and Harington (for Receiver General) — Series B, Small B variety.
The obverse retains the Britannia vignette and key design elements despite heavy circulation, printed by the British American Bank Note Company, Montreal & Ottawa.
