Offered here is an 1858 Canadian 10 Cents certified VF-30 by ICCS (International Coin Certification Service). This example has been identified as the desirable First 8 over 5 (1st 8/5) overdate variety, one of the recognized varieties from Canada’s first decimal coinage.

The obverse features the youthful portrait of Queen Victoria, while the reverse displays the crowned denomination within a maple wreath. Moderate circulation wear is present, consistent with the assigned VF-30 grade, with strong remaining detail in both the portrait and wreath.

The 1858 issue represents the inaugural year of Canada’s decimal coinage, making it one of the most important dates in Canadian numismatics. The 1st 8/5 overdate variety adds further collector appeal, as it resulted from a corrected working die where an “8” was punched over a previously engraved “5.”

Professionally authenticated and graded by ICCS, this is an excellent addition to any collection of Victorian Canadian coinage or Canadian die varieties.
