A scarce 1969 Bank of Canada $20 featuring a genuine Cut Out of Register printing error. Professionally graded BCS Very Fine 20, this note is catalogued as BC-50b-E25-i and represents an unusual production error from the popular 1969 Bank of Canada series.
This error occurred during the printing process when one or more colour impressions were misaligned, resulting in a note that is noticeably out of register. BCS has authenticated the error and identified it on the holder as “Cut out of Register.” The note also contains a small hole, which is noted on the certification label.
Issued with the Lawson–Bouey signatures, the note features the familiar portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the face and the spectacular Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks vignette on the reverse.
