Vibia Sabina, daughter of L. Vibius Sabinus and Salonia Matidia, was married to the 24 year old Hadrian in 100 AD. Their marriage lasted 36 years. In 117 AD Hadrian ascended the Imperial throne but Sabina was not granted the title of Augusta until 128 AD. Sabina died in 136 AD, predeceasing her husband by about a year and a half.
