Copper As. RIC V (pt 1)-80. Obverse : bust of Aurelian right, with "IMP AVRELIANVS AVG" around. Reverse : Aurelian and Concordia standing facing each other and shaking hands, and a small bust of sol above their hands, with "CONCORDIA AVG" around, and an "S" in the exergue. These Copper As of Aurelian appear to be part of a failed attempt to restore the old coinage denominations. Because they are almost pure copper they tend to corrode, and specimens like this one with very nice surfaces and a good patination are difficult to find.
